If you are looking for any form of social media influence then the first step when connecting with people online is to send them a message. I have just spent the last couple of days going through around 50 friend request on Facebook.

Out of those 50 requests about 5 people sent me a message to introduce themselves and would I like to connect. Now I know that you have all heard this before and that all of you have been on the receiving end of this.

There is a lot more to social media influence than just having a lot of friends, but sending out a message to new requests is the first thing you should be doing. In fact it should be part of your social media presence and daily strategy.

So what did I do with all those people who couldn’t be bothered to add a message?

Social Media Influence – Get Your Message Across

Well the way I look at it is we are here to mentor these people and it’s a great opportunity to start building a relationship with them. So with every confirmation I sent them a message back, nothing too long just to say hello, check out something on their profile and mention and ask a question.

The question is very important as it gives them a reason and nudges them to respond to your message. Also it’s a great way for you to stay in control of the messages, you ask they tell. Most will try and get you to see their opportunity, just politely decline the offer but then this is your way in.

You see most will be struggling to build their business online, all will tell you that they are millionaires, business has never been so good, and they get more leads than they can shake a stick at.

Yes guys, people lie on the internet. I mean there can’t really be that many successful people out there?

What I do is offer them some free training that they and their large team could use to grow their business even faster. But I always ask them if they would be open to using the free training. If they say no well that means they are simply a closed person, got that on from Mr Ray Higdon, and I’m going tell you by using that one little word “open” it really changes the way people respond.

You will get some say yes and some say no, great because you have started that relationship building process. You are now casting you social media influence over them and they will be more attracted towards you.

So to cap this post off, remember to always send a message, you never know how much the person on the other end is looking for help. Never send links to anything unless that person has given you permission to do so.

Always listen to what they want and what they struggle with, if you don’t have the tools to give them they ask me for them. Remember the free training, I can help with that. You need something that will position you as a leader, if you help them by offering solutions they are more than likely going to follow you and buy from you.
