Quantity V’s Quality – Which is Better?

When I started out in network marketing I was extremely naive and like most people didn’t have much of a clue what was going on. I sat down with my sponsor and had the diagram with all the circles drawn on a piece of paper.

I sat there and thought to myself, man this is easy, just get lots of circles and I’m set for life!

I honestly thought that the more people I had in my downline the better.

I had come from an industry where to solve a problem you throw manpower at it and lot’s of it. It didn’t matter if it was the right people or not as long as there were people to be seen.

A vast majority of the time these extra people caused more problems than they solve. The solution? Get more people!

However the problems normally were solved buy 2 or 3 people who had the skills need to get the job done.

So we can see that quantity is not always the best policy. So when is quantity an advantage?

In my opinion it’s when you are at the sorting stage. That stage where people are just joining your list and you contact them for the first time.

You can quickly determine who are the time wasters and who are not. Some will make the choice for you and unsubscribe before they get the first email from you.

This is the beauty of having a system that can take on some of the work of sorting people out even before you speak to them.

By sorting through all the quantity you can quickly get down to the quality which is where you want to be.

It’s better to have 5 or 6 top quality people around you than 50 who are a drain on your time and resources. You are freed up to do the things you want to do instead of babysitting all the time. Your business will grow.

Having vast amounts of people around you who are not doing anything will have a negative effect on you and your business.

So which is better, quantity or quality? You seen what I think but what do you think? Answer below please.
