Leads For Sale Anyone?

Many people who start a home based business will look for leads for sale or places where they can buy lists of people’s names and email address. The reason is that they are told to do so by an upline who has no idea about marketing online.

There are many problems with these lead generation techniques that I want to share with you today so that if you are thinking about buying leads then you might just want to think again. There are plenty of places where you can get home based business leads from without spending what little money you have to get them.

By the end of this post you will understand why leads for sale are not a good move for your business. I will also show you a simple system you can use for online lead generation that will be so much more profitable for your business.

  • No guarantee names and emails are valid
  • Where have the leads come from?
  • Age of list
  • How many people have the same list?
  • Type of leads
  • Cost per lead

Name and Emails Valid – You cannot guarantee that the name and email addresses you have just purchased are valid. The only way you will find out is to start contacting each person on the list, which throws up another problem, it’s going to take you a heck of a long time to go through the list.

Origin of the Leads – How has the list been made is another question you should be asking. You know you see all these prelaunch companies around that disappear? Well some are setup simple to gather names and email address of those that got in for free at the start. Those name are then sold off to lead companies, who then sell them onto to unsuspecting home business owners.

Age of List – You could end up with a list of leads that is years old, the people on that list might not be interested in a home business. They may have even started one and be doing really well. The age of the list is so important, especially if you have not made the list.

Has The List Been Sold To Others? – What if hundreds of people have the same names and email address as you do and you all contact those people? If it’s only going to take a few emails offering them the next big opportunity before they close down the email account.

Type of Leads – Are the leads on the list the type you were hoping for? I mean if you are looking for home based business leads and you get home owner leads you’re not going to do much business with them are you?

Cost Per Lead – Now let’s just say the last 5 items I have mentioned has not put you off looking for leads for sale then how much are you will to pay to end up with nothing? Most leads will come in at around $1 a lead on average, it’s a lot of money to spend out with no guarantees of success.

I would go as far to say that all leads for sale are just a rip off to make money out of you. The biggest problem is that you do not own that list of so called leads, in fact nobody will own it. You MUST learn how to build your own list of leads that are looking for what you have to offer.

It’s far better to have a list of 10 people who want what you have, than a list of a 1000 who could care less or don’t even exist!
