6 Simple Ways to Boost Your Facebook Presence
Now, when the social media impact grows like crazy working constantly to improve your Facebook Presence is a very effective way to keep your online business “fueled” with a vital resource: people who like and trust you.
So how do you create and maintain a presence that commands respect attraction and continuous interaction?
I’m going to share with you a couple of tips to get the most from your time and effort spent on this social media site. Relax and enjoy J
How to boost your Facebook Presence:
Before you can engage and build relationships with people it’s important to attract them to you in every way possible.
The News Feed plays a huge role in this process: if your updates show up often in your friends’ feeds they will be more likely to read, like or comment on them.
Every piece of content you post on your fan page or personal profile has a ranking called Edge Rank.
Don’t worry, things won’t get to techie here .
Yet, I must say that it determines if an update shows up or not in the News feed based on a few specific factors:
-Affinity: the relationship between you and your friends/fans ( how much they interact and respond to your posts
- Weight: either we talk about images, videos, quotes or blog posts, every one of them has a specific score which influences the Edge Rank
-Time: the recent your info is, the better.
Increasing the Edge Rank of your content will inevitably enhance your Facebook Presence. Let’s detail a little:
1.Post often but not too often
Balance is key here. I had days with 20 updates on my profile or more.
Guess what?
Almost zero interaction. The reason is simple: people decided to hide my updates.
Now, 2 to 5 updates per day are enough to keep people engaged and happy J
2.Keep things simple
I noticed that short updates (80 or less) rank better and create more engagement than long posts. Few questions for example are a very effective option.
3.Post various content
People love variation: posts that make them laugh but also keeps their own self inspired and educated.
Hint: from all types of content, images and links tend to influence the most your Facebook presence. Feel free to experiment as well and see what works best for you
4.Use long links
When you post something let the entire url. It will rank better than a shortened link.
5.Update manually
To automate or not automate? This is the question…
I know, it’s easier to use MarketMe Suite, Hootsuite or Twitter Feed but manual updates have more chances to show up in the News Feed of your friends/fans.
6.Check out the time first
Posting in high traffic times like 10 am to 4 pm eastern will enhance your Facebook presence.
Yet, that depends on your audience. Study it. See what are their favorite hours to jump on the social media boat.
Finally, when the weekend is coming (Thursday-Friday) people are more active than during the rest of the week.
That’s all folks!

Hey Radu, very informative post. All really great tips you shared.
I don’t really have anything to add accept to just engage yourself with your friends. Don’t promote anything, just network and get to know more about them. If someone comments on something you saw, comment back or send them an email. It’s a great way to connect with more people and can benefit you down the road.
Congrats on the guest post, job well done.

Awesome stuff here Radu,
it just connects with what I have been working on lately. I commend Tristram for allowing you to post this on his blog.
Building a presence on Facebook was a struggle for me at the start, until I decided to monitor how people operated, and changed my techniques. Like you’ve said, the status updates have to be regulated properly in order to avoid your contacts “hiding” them.
Thanks for sharing, have an empowered month of December.

You should be using the Growmap Anti-Spambot Plugin. I was getting loads of spam until I used it and now most of the comments I get are comments that rock and are genuine.
