As home business owners and entrepreneurs sometimes it can be difficult to prioritise your work load each day.

What with checking emails, writing blog posts, updating your various social networking sites, answering the phone and contacting your list you can get overwhelmed.

What I use is the great little tool that helps me put everything into a list of 4 priorities, with priority 1 being top  and 4 being bottom.

Check out the image below and I will explain what each one means and how I deal with each of them.

Priority 1: Urgent and Important

So your first priorities of the day should be the things that you must do no matter what. This could be contacting your leads, updating your blog, presenting a webinar or just about anything that is the most important thing you must do without fail.

Priority 2: Important, Not Urgent

Your second priority will be important but not urgent. This could be something like updating your social networking sites, checking emails or anything like that. It’s a task that you is important and needs to be done but it could wait until the next day.

Priority 3: Urgent, Not Important

On to your third priority of the day and these are task that are urgent but not important, now what could that mean. Well it’s urgent for somebody else but not important for you. That person needs you to complete the task ASAP but you have more personal urgent and important tasks to do. It’s up to you how to deal with this and decide how important it is for you to do the task for that person. Each situation will be different.

Priority 4: Not Urgent, Not Important

Your forth priority is all the tasks that keep getting put off day to day. They are things that may have been priority 1, 2 or 3 but for whatever reason they were never completed. These task are likely to never be completed so the best thing to do is scrap them off your list. They are just clogging up space, so to speak.

That’s how I put all of my daily, weekly and monthly tasks into order of priority to help organise my life a little better. I would be interested to hear how your priorities tasks.

Being An Apprentice of MLM

My back ground is engineering. I left school and at 19 years old started working for a large car manufacture in my hometown, Swindon.

About a year later after starting I join an engineering apprenticeship and started my new career. It took me just over 4 years of exams, training and generally getting covered in grease and oil and I finally completed the course.

I worked in the weld shop and had my own section that I would support production, keep the line running and maintain the machinery. It could be a pressured job, the company would lose around £10,000 per minute for each line stop.

I trained on the job, picking up new skills as time went by as well as skills picked up in the class room and other training courses.

After a few years I got promoted and was in charge of my own shift and the maintenance structure and budget of £300 million worth of equipment.

We still got apprentices but they would spend the first 2 years in the class room learning theory, and basic mechanical and electrical skills. They would then be sent out to different parts of the factory where they would finish their training on the shop floor.

Most didn’t know one end of a spanner from another. We would have to train these guys from scratch as they had no experience in working under those kinds of conditions.

They were 2 to 3 years behind me when I was at their level. Now I’m not saying that theory is not important, it is but there must be a fine balance between theory and on job training.

How does this fit in the network marketing, well I believe it’s very much the same. When you start out in this industry it’s like starting a new job as an apprentice. The big difference is it’s down to you to make it work.

You will have support from your upline  (hopefully) and there is tons of help on the internet if you know where to look. You will not have anyone telling you what to do and checking up on you so you must learn to work for yourself and plan your time.

However with network market it is an on the job training affair in every sense of the word. There is no point you sitting there reading books, learning new things on the internet and after 2 years start your network marketing career without putting any of that into practice in those first 3 years.

You learn as you go along. You make mistakes and learn from them, you have success and learn from it. And the best thing is you never have anyone tell you what to do, when to do it and how to do it. You learn at your own pace and learn what you want to know and are interested in.

Read new things and put them into practice. The more you do this the more your confidence and self belief will grow and that will come out in the energy you give off to people.

So if you’re not taking action, if you think you’re not ready then start taking action today. You are ready and the world is waiting for you.

Start your blog, build your list, develop relationships with your list and help them build their business. You can start doing this the day you start your network marketing career and you could make a full time income within 2 years.

The guys that joined me as an apprentice were of very little use for the first year or so but after some training they began to make a difference. But for me it those wasted years where they could have been putting into practise the things they were learning were wasted.

Most had forgotten 80% of the stuff they had learn because they were not using it on a daily basis. When you do things a few times you will remember them.

Still not sure what to do or need help then fill out the form on the right and I will get you on your way.

Facebook Marketing Secrets Exposed.

Today I got my own personalised copy of a new Ebook by Jordan Schultz, Facebook Marketing Secrets Exposed that I want to share with everyone who reads this post.

This ebook will give you a blue print to generate 20 – 30 leads a day for your business.

So what’s all the fuss about and why am I excited to be part of this marketing training involving Facebook.?

Well to be honest I have learnt a lot about Facebook over the last year. I had 2 of my previous accounts closed down, change the way I use Facebook, setup a blog to complement Facebook and link that into a tribe setup of a fan page.

Some of the stuff I was doing I learnt before reading Facebook Marketing Sercrets Exposed but some of the new things I have learnt will blow you away and take your marketing to a new level.

From the book I have set up a fan page in the form of a tribe where other blogger from all over the world come a post their content on the wall. Now you may be thinking big deal anyone could that. Well they can but can anyone add images and video and HTML to their fan pages?

One thing I changed was what I posted in groups and on the walls. This is such a simple change that has made a massive difference to my business and it involves a blog.

These are just too small examples of what you will learn from this book. It is jam packed full of fantastic training that will take you head and shoulders above all of your competition out there.

In my last post I talked to you about my 3 favourite WordPress Plugins that with allow you to interact with your readers. These are some of the best ways that your readers can comment, ask questions and join your mailing list.

Today I want to talk about get more exposure for your content and how that can happen with these 3 little plugins. They are of course the WordPress social buttons that you see at the top and bottom of peoples blog posts.

But first let’s look at why having these plugins are so important. I mean if somebody liked your post they could copy and paste the URL and send it to their friends.  That’s never going to work, would you spend time do this……no!

Yet I have seen some blog, not many but some that don’t have any social buttons on them, so there is no way to share that content.

And that’s what you want, to have your content shared on Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Stumbleupon, the list goes on but the more shares you have the better it is for you, and here is why.

One of the plugins I use and a lot of people use shows the number of times that the post has been shared around the internet, check out the top of this page. You see the Facebook, Twitter, Digg etc icon well it has a number and that the amount of time my content has been posted to one of those sites.

Second the more times it gets shared well that must mean it a good piece and people trust the content and are happy to share it with their friends. This increase your brand visibility, which in turn positions you as a leader and somebody that can be trusted.

OK, let’s look at the social buttons, or plugins if you like. These are just the ones I use but I would love to hear about the ones you guys are using and the benefits you have from them. Here we go.

Digg Digg WordPress Plugin – This is a cool little plugin which sits at the top of each of my posts. You can select up to 18 different social buttons like Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Stumbleupon and a load more. Check out the picture below, see the numbers, that lets everyone know how many times that post has been shared.

Fixed Social Plugin – This is a plugin that sits either at the top or bottom of your page or at the side. It is used for two things really which is why I have added it to the page. First it allows some content sharing and also it allows people to connect with you on different social networking sites. I have added an image below, I have put it on it’s side but it is vertical on the blog and you can see on your right.

OnlyWire – This is a new one for me and I have only had it for a few weeks but love it. You can submit your content to over 40 different sites at the click of a button. It takes a bit of time to set up accounts with all of them but I believe its well worth doing. I am watching the results from this one but the early signs are encouraging. This one is free to use as long as you have it visible on your page. Also people can share your content through their Onlywire account.

That’s my 3 favorite WordPress social buttons and you can download all of these buttons in the WordPress back office and just set them up and activate them.

My Top 3 Interactive WordPress Plugins

Having a blog is a great way to interact with people on a personal level and they can get a good idea of who you are and what you’re about just from you blog.

Obviously they can find out about you on the many social networking sites but a blog has a more personal feel about it.

So how can you interact with your readers and get a conversation going with them through your blog?

Today I am going to share with you the 3 plugins that I use to interact and build a relationship with my readers.

All are very easy to install and I’m going to be honest, one isn’t a plugin at all but more on that in a bit.

If you’re new to blogging and WordPress you may be thinking “what the hell is a plugin”? Very simply it is a piece of software that will enhance the usability of your blog. Depending on the plugin people can share your content, post comments, connect with you on other sites etc

There are literally 1000s of plugins out there but I am going to start with just 3 that will make your blog so much more exciting.

Disqus Comment System – this is a must plugin which will allow your visitors to leave comments, ask question and for you to respond to them. It will also allow you to visit those people’s blogs as long as they have a Disqus account. You could also use CommentLuv which is also good and it will show your readers last blog post, however I personally think that Disqus works better for my site. Well recommended.

Fast and Secure Contact Form – This is a cool little plugin that you add to a separate page on your blog and allows visitors to contact you direct. This is very powerful if they want to ask questions, get advice or just send you a personal message. The plugin is CAPTCHA and Akismet protected which will help with SPAM protection.

Opt-in Web Form – This is not a plugin but a widget which you can set up the form using Aweber auto responder. I have included this because it’s the way to get people onto your list and start to build a relationship with that list. By offering something of value in exchange for a name and email address they get some free training, ebook or something else of value. This is where you can make an income from your blog and is an absolute must to have on your blog.

Well that my 3 pluggins you should have on your blog to communicate with your readers and build a relationship with your readers. In my next post I will be talking about my 3 favourite plugins for sharing your content on the social network and connecting with people on these networking sites.
