Tweet Tweet, How To Add Valuable Content in 3 Easy Steps.

by Tristram Lodge on Mar.25, 2010, under Twitter

I first set up my Twitter account around 2 years ago and to be honest I really could not see the whole point of it. I just didn’t get what was going on. People selling, pitching and promoting every 5 seconds. I mean how would anyone see my tweets and would they really care?

Move the clock forward 2 years to today and let’s be honest not much has changed. No I don’t mean I still don’t get it but have you noticed how much spam there is on Twitter?

Every 5 seconds or so the next big opportunity is posted to Twitter. Every now and then somebody posts some V.A.C (Value Added Content) which is a relief from all that spam. So really how hard is it to post V.A.C to your followers? Not really to tell you the truth, you can get at least 5 to 10 great post per day.

The first and this is a new one on me is to join a blogging tribe. Which is basically a group of people who work together to syndicate their blogs. I was introduced to this concept a couple of weeks ago and have been blown away by the results in less than 2 weeks.

Check out this great aricle by Jordan Schultz about what a tribe and blog syndication is all about. Also here is a list of Tribes to join.

Join all of the above tribes, watch the short introduction video and see how you can boost your blogging power and Twitter power.

The second is when you read a great article hit the Retweet button and share that content. Your followers will love this and see you as somebody who wants to share valuable information with them and not just how much money you can make from them.

The third and another that I get great response from is to post motivational quotes.  Where can you get these quotes from, well head over to http://motivateus.com/ or http://www.motivationalquotes.com/ to get a great selection of quotes you can post daily. People always love to read a good quote and you can also post them to Facebook as well.

I have also found that the time of day you send your tweets is important. I live in the UK so I tend to send my tweets between 6pm GMT and 8am GMT as I have followers from around the world but most are in the USA or Europe.

I love setting thing up on autopilot and I use Socialoomph.com which is very easy to use so you can schedule your tweets for the time of day that would suit you.

By doing these little things you will start to build that all important trust which you must have at the start of any relationship.

So get on Twitter and start posting great quality content.

Thank you for reading, I hope you found this post useful and please leave a comment.

Are You A Consistent Winner Or A Consistent Quitter?

by Tristram Lodge on Mar.19, 2010, under MLM Mindset

Last weekend David Beckham tore his Achilles tendon playing for AC Milan wrecking his chances of being the first English man to play at four consecutive World Cups.

His dream of achieving this as well as the opportunity to be a World Cup winner are now in tatters. This is something that he has trained for all his life and now the dream is gone.

So what now for David? Is this the end of his glittering career? Will he ever play for England again?

Well I can tell you he will be doing everything he can to get back doing what he loves most. But how did a young lad from Laytonstone, London get to be one the most famous faces of world football?

Dedication and consistency. David would practise everyday, for hours on end just kicking a ball until he hit the crossbar. He would do this over and over again, day in, day out. He would stay behind after training in order to achieve his dream of playing for Manchester United. His dream come true in 1992 when he got his first team debut.

If you want to be a top network marketer then you must be consistent in everything that you do. When you want to learn how to do something new, be it social networking, Pay per Click, article writing or blogging up must keep going until you have successP

I had one prospect a couple of weeks ago who signed up for some Facebook training, this is training I have used very successfully and I know that others have as well so I know that it works. A week later she sent me an email saying that she had already tried the training for a week and it didn’t work!

Try something for a week and it’s not going to work. What was expecting, a get rich quick scheme? When you start out you must pick your niche and stick with it until you are an expert in what you do. Someone who can take their experience and pass it onto others.

If you want to change your career and become say a lawyer, would you turn up at the courthouse and say “Hi, I’m here to fight your case!” What reaction do you think you would get?

To be a lawyer takes years of study and so will learning to be a network marketing. Are you prepared to do whatever it takes to be a success in your niche? Are you prepared to take the bad times with the good times? If the answer is no then you really need to decide if this is for you.

You MUST keep going, learning and growing everyday until you succeed. They say that all the good things come to those that wait, why wait, what are you waiting for?

The big question is how much do you really want it? How badly do you want a lifestyle that most will only ever dream of? Don’t try something for a week or a month and give up because you didn’t get the results you were expecting.

I’m not saying stick with something that you don’t enjoy or find boring. Your business should be most of all FUN with a capital F, find something you enjoy and make it your passion. I have just started out with blogging, a year after starting with social networking. I wanted to branch into blogging as I loved social networking and this is the next step.

So will David Beckham be heading to South Africa in the summer, well England Manager Fabio Cappello has said he wants him to be there as he is so influential in the dressing room.

David will not get his dream of playing at the World Cup but because of his positive mental attitude he has achieved great things in his career and so can you, I can promise you that.

England will kick off their World Cup campaign against the USA on 12th June, Come On England.

Thanks for reading, please leave a comment and share this. Here’s to your massive success.

Is Tagging Spamming?

by Tristram Lodge on Mar.17, 2010, under Facebook

I found this article on Linus Ruzicka’s blog and wanted to add a couple of points about tagging people in a welcome message on Facebook. Do this right and you will stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons, like Linus, but get it wrong and you will still stand out but for reasons you don’t want.

This is a practise that I use and I have seen other people use as well. A simple welcome video where you introduce yourself and say hi is fine as long as you don’t spam.

Now if you read the article it’s obvious that the guy may have had this type of thing done before but with links to websites etc. I have seen people who tag you in a video and when you click the link it’s a promotional video to their business.

Not cool guys, you know who you are!

So I can see why this person who Linus tagged in a welcome video may get a bit annoyed, but hang on a second. Would this person of preferred it if Linus had written out the video into text and posted that as a welcome message on his wall? What’s the difference?

So if you are going to tag someone who is not in a video and use it as a welcome message please follow these do’s and don’ts.

  • DO NOT add any links to blogs, website lead capture pages or anything. You are reaching out for the first time, just say hello!
  • DO NOT leave the video up for days on end, 24 to 48 hours is fine.
  • DO NOT sell, pitch or promote anything in your video.
  • DO add a text message which will appear at the side, but no links.
  • DO make the video with you in it, not your company website.

These are just some of the basic’s, and to be honest it’s not that difficult to get right, however it would appear that some people just can’t help themselves and will take every opportunity they can to pitch their business to you.

Just like everything with social networking, this is a small part of building  relationships with people.

I have around 1400 friends on Facebook and have used this to greet all of them and have had only one person who did not like what I did. I have  around 30 people who have click the like button and have had around 100 positive comments.

So just because one person may not like what you do, don’t be put off. This technique lets you stand out from the crowd, dare to be different.

Thanks for reading.

You’re a Network Marketing Newbie – What Could You Possibly Offer?

by Tristram Lodge on Mar.03, 2010, under MLM Hints And Tips

How can you, someone who has been involved with network marketing for a few months add any sort of value to your prospects?

Well as it happens you can offer quite a lot. Stay with me on this one and I will tell you how you can help others with their business while building yours at the same time. You have heard people talking about adding value, leading with a solution not a business opportunity.

You may have been fortunate enough to have read Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsoring. (If you haven’t yet I would strongly suggest you do!) So how can someone who has only been in network marketing possibly add any sort of value to anyone else in the industry?

To start with you can share your experience in MLM up until now, the things you have done that work and that don’t work. People love a story so tell your story, the ups and down’s, the good and bad. Tell people why you got started and your background, this can be great to build some common ground.

Something you can do is find articles, videos or training’s that have caught your eye and you have found helpful and share them with your contacts. You can do this through social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and  Linkedin. You can find a ton of great content on  Better Networker.

A tool that I have been using for a few weeks now is called AutoTweetX, it pulls content from any website you like with the key words you have picked. You can then check out the content, if it is relevant to your market you can add a bit.ly link and post it to twitter.

If you have used twitter you will have seen the 1000s of ads on there, so by posting this type of non promotional content you will get a good following and build strong relationships. It’s also great for finding great content.

If you do this DO NOT copy and paste the work and present it as your own. This is not ethical and you will get found out as a fraud and someone who is not to be trusted. Simply copy the web address from your web browser and that will take people direct to the article.

What else can you do, well I would suggest that you sign up to as many newsletters as you can. Some will just try and sell you anything and everything so just hit the unsubscribe button. However most will pass on good quality information that you can share with other networkers. They will give you information about useful websites and tools to help you grow your business.

Pass this information onto others and you will soon build a great reputation as a leader and not like most network marketers who are out there selling products and have no interest in actually helping anyone.

At some point you are going to have to start producing your own content. Check out how the leaders write and the subjects they write about. Also get some Copywrite training, this is a skill you will need.

As your list grows, keep sending out quality information at least once a week, twice is better. Have some of your content and some of other peoples. Remember if you are using someone else’s content send your list to that person website or content on the web.

Trust me in the long run it better for your and for them, and they will appreciate you spreading there content around. Its good practice to get into as your content could be passed onto in much the same way. Imagine having your content blasted around the internet, how much would that explode your business and your brand name.

Enjoy sharing the great content that is out there, your prospects will appreciate it and you will grow as a leader and business owner.
